Me too! Have you seen Miracle Workers? I've yet to check it out but heard fantastic things.

I spent most of my very rainy Sunday afternoon watching a bunch of episodes of the new Unsolved Mysteries. I'm a big fan of the original, and UM has always held a similar place as Forensic Files in my heart - they do a good job of telling the story in a way that I always learn a little something. I don't think this new season of UM is as good as previous ones? Some of the 'mysteries' seem a little thin, but so far I've really enjoyed the UFO over Michigan episode and the episode about the Navajo Rangers. I would watch an entire show about those two guys and what they saw and investigated in their time on the paranormal beat.

We started Wednesday last night and tbh, I just --- it fucks with the family dynamic that I love about the Addams' in a way that I am just not that into? It's pretty, and Elfman's score is great, and I love Jenny Ortega's portrayal of Wednesday - you can sense the wickedly sharp humour underneath the woe, and I wish we got a little more of that - but I dunno, it feels like it's trying to capitalize on some trend that I'm not sure exists? 'Course, I grew up on the TV show from the late 90s (hurray to living in rural southern ontario and having no TV options) and the movies, so I'm biased towards wanting to see that kind of Addams' interaction. I am also deeply not into what I can sense is gonna be a love triangle side plot. Why do we keep doing this, there are other conflicts.

Did you get any further in Wednesday? I think it's a shame Ortega's performance gets buried underneath so much extremely generic YA stuff, and I was also irked by how the show made Wednesday seem like she secretly yearns for normie life. Not the Wednesday I know and love, thanks very much!

I still haven't finished the last few episodes of the new Unsolved Mysteries, but I agree that this season feels thin. When the show first made its return on Netflix I was amazed by how many wild clues each case seemed to have, but a few of these latest ones are a bit bottom of the barrel in terms of the "mystery" part of the premise. I still hope the spotlight on them helps some of the cases/families get closure, though, especially since if the answers are obvious to us as viewers, you'd think they would be for investigators, too.
