Watched the Texas Killing Fields show this weekend, and then started in on Vatican Girl. Apparently I've been desiring a True Crime fix.

Texas Killing Fields was interesting, the central problem in the cold cases seems to mostly be that the local PD did less than the bare minimum as is par for the course, tbh.

The Vatican Girl one is so far fascinating, I think mostly because I've long been fascinated by the notion of wild conspiracy emanating from the Vatican and the papacy and also I do just love to listen to people speak Italian about anything at all. Additionally, it's just got some real gorgeous b-roll, so there's that for visual interest on top of the enduringly interesting mystery of the girl who went missing and maybe was either part of a terrorist plot or a mafia revenge scheme, depending on who you ask. Mostly, I hope they do eventually figure out what happened to her, for the sake of her family who is still looking, even now.
